神戸ルミナリエ / Kobe Luminarie

I was excited to see this!

I was surprised by how large-scale this was. Many streets were blocked off and traffic was redirected so that there'd be room for people to line up. We were in a massive line for a while. The line snaked through the city. We spent a lot of time walking around

There were tons of people in line. Since the line was spread out all over the place, the people walking in line were sometimes stopped so that the gates could be opened and people who weren't in line could cross the street. Since the gates were moved, guards lined the crosswalk and held reflective rope to keep people from getting into the line. Both crowds were kept separate. There were many places where people lined up to cross the street. They had a whole system set up. It was cool. I may not have explained it very well though :/

We passed by Chinatown!

We got a glimpse of the lights at some point

We passed by the same places a few times. We just kept walking and walking

Finally some lights...

We arrived!

After passing through the tunnel of lights

Looking back

At this point, after getting through the tunnel of arches, we weren't flowing in a line anymore. We could spread out and go wherever we wanted. There were more lights!
